Professional Experience:
Joshua Sonshine is a Senior Vice President, Debt & Structure Finance, Based our of CBRE's downtown Toronto Office.
Joshua's team originates and executes a variety of commercial real estate debt transactions, providing trusted advice to his clients. In his career, Joshua has arranged and closed in excess of $4.9 billion in direct transaction volume.
Prior to joining CBRE, Joshua worked for 10 years in institutional-quality commercial real estate lending. Joshua works most recently as a Managing Director of Mortgage Investments at a large Canadian Life insurance company, and has also held positions at Tier 1 Canadian bank & a large REIT.
Debt & Structure Finance Expertise:
Joshua has experience in land, construction, bridge & term debt, CMHC-insured loans, asset & portfolio secured financings, arrangement of loan syndicates, mortgage bonds and strategic debt/equity advisory. Given his institutional lending background, Joshua is able to navigate a financing process with a certain lens and attention to detail which is particularly advantageous to his clients.
He has involvement in each major real estate asset class across Canada and works with leading REITs, REOC's pension funds and private firms, with a particular emphasis on maintaining strong relationships with the lending community.
Joshua's expertise includes business development, team management, asset & corporate modelling, due diligence, financial analysis and oversight of all elements of a financing, including closings.
